Acxiom Corporation is looking for a Director of Search Marketing to join its growing Search and Media team. The Director of Search Marketing works collaboratively with Account Services and Search/Media team members across a range of accounts and prospects. He/She provides leadership in structuring compelling, innovative and effective approaches to use search engine marketing to meet client needs. This includes both Paid and Organic Search practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the agency expert for both paid search and natural search strategies
- Identify and pioneer new search relationships and partnerships to ensure Acxiom Digital remains at the forefront of SEM
- Grow new and existing client revenue by selling (up-sell / cross-sell) solutions and ideas in natural search and paid search
- Work directly with new business team on SEM sales opportunities
- Partner with Account and Media teams to ensure synergies with paid search and media campaigns
- Lead key SEM client presentations and strategic discussions
- Author or contribute to whitepapers regarding research, analysis, best practices for SEM
- Develop ongoing customer reports, which yield qualitative and quantitative trends for ongoing SEM efforts
- Establish and maintain project management processes to manage multiple SEM projects at one time
- Collaborate with Account and Media departments to feed SEM specific findings into broader online and offline media strategy
- Stay up-to-date on and advise clients of the latest trends in SEM
- Collaborate with Product Development team for in house SEM toolset - Manage key vendor/partner relationships
- Manage team of in house experts in Bend, Oregon
Qualifications
- 8 to 10 years of advertising/marketing experience
- 5 years of interactive media industry experience with a minimum of 4 years dedicated to SEM
- 4+ years of experience managing a team of people with direct reports
- Paid Search and SEO program management experience for Fortune 500 brands
- Ability to develop strategies for key accounts and educate team of search analysts and strategists
- Understanding of the mechanics of how search engines work
- Experience managing relationships with Google, Yahoo, and MSN
- Experience with paid placement (e.g. AdWords, Yahoo Panama, Tier II engines)
- Understanding of site analytics tools (e.g. Omniture, Hitbox, Webtrends)
- Track record on having provided growth through search strategies on large and medium-sized media accounts
- Experience performing technical site analysis, competitive/keyword research, and link analysis
- Experience with and knowledge of business productivity tools, especially Powerpoint and Excel
- Strong writing, presentation, analysis, and negotiating skills
- At least a Bachelors degree, with a record of strong academic achievement a plus Client-side experience a plus
