Web Publisher/Front-end Developer – WE Studio D

We are looking for a committed Web Publisher/Front-end Developer to join Waggener Edstrom Worldwide Studio D team. The Studio D team offers a full-service menu of digital and creative capabilities to amplify PR objectives, turbo-charge messaging, and engage audiences in new ways to give campaigns maximum impact. Our team consists of developers, designers, content managers, content creators, video production specialists, search engine marketing experts, social media marketers and others. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and self-motivated with a passion for quality control and a high level of dedication to customer service.
The Web Publisher/Front-end Developer will manage and coordinate projects of varying scale, all of which will contain one or more of the following elements: formatting, editing and distribution of press materials for Studio D clients – especially e-mail newsletters, creation and maintenance of Virtual Press Rooms, and consulting on newsletter best practices.
The role can be based out of our New York, Boston or Washington, D.C. office locations. There is also an on-call aspect to this role that requires 1 week out of the month to be on-call evenings/weekends.
Responsibilities:
• Web Content Management – responsible for managing day-to-day operations and content updates of WaggenerEdstrom.com
• Code XML and CSS for many agency clients’ Web sites.
• Publish and maintain Web site content for client Web sites using XHTML, XML and CSS. (Must know how to hand code HTML).
• Create e-mail landing pages and client websites per client direction, using client approved platforms, technologies and languages.
• Maintain relationships with Microsoft News Center team and other clients regarding Web posting and development processes.
• Provide morning QA support for client web sites as required.
• Provide on-call service after hours as required.
• Monitor projects for key dates and deliverables and assist project managers with on time delivery.
• Prioritize multiple simultaneous requests and input from multiple clients/team members to ensure all deadlines are met Newsletter Management.
• Partner with creative team to design and format newsletters and templates.
• Performance analysis for all newsletters, partnering with the Influential Monitoring and Measurement team where applicable.
• Create and maintain editorial calendar for client newsletters.
• Create work flow and best practices to update newsletter templates and creation of new newsletters Press Material Coordination.
• Format press material and coordinate review process between account staff, clients, legal reviewers and content editors; ensure agency and client standards and deadlines are met; maintain quality control and responsibility for integrity of final production product.
• Maintain appropriate computer skills (including Photoshop, Acrobat, In Design, SharePoint and Microsoft Office applications); keeps up with emerging technologies and shares new skills learned with team members.
• Assist with electronic distribution of press materials via a variety of channels, including wire service, Web, HTML e-mail, client and internal blogs.
Qualifications:
• Education: A.S., A.B., B.S. or B.A. in journalism, public relations or marketing preferred. Computer science, multimedia design or development also considered.
• 3+ years professional experience working in a team environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously for web content management.
• Proven ability to work under deadline pressure and concentrate under stressful conditions.
• Proficient with hand coding HTML & CSS.
• Proficiency in HTML newsletters and their integration & distribution with Outlook.
• Experience with XHTML and/or XML.
• Experience with JavaScript and jQuery is a plus.
• Technology experience: Microsoft Office, Windows, Photoshop, Acrobat and SharePoint. Must have strong Photoshop skills.
• Experience with MS Project and SharePoint a plus.
• Proficient with social media tools, especially Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other emerging media.
• General knowledge of journalism, public relations, and the high-technology field is desirable.
• Familiarity with basic principles of project management.
• Fluency in another language a plus.
