Blip.tv is building the next-generation television network. We work with 50,000 independently produced Web shows -- ranging from sitcoms to dramas to how-to to newsmagazines and everything in between -- and provide them the services of scale they need to be successful and sustainable. These services include workflow automation, distribution and business development, marketing and PR and advertising sales. We do not take on content risk and do not directly fund shows or take part in their production. Our job picks up once the show is and ready for distribution.

We are about 25 people based in SoHo. We're backed by Bain Capital Ventures and Ambient Sound Investments. Our partners include Apple, YouTube, Boxee, Sony, NBC and more. We do about 90 million video views a month, growing fast. We're looking for a few good, extremely entrepreneurial people to join our team.

FRONT-END WEB DEVELOPER

Blip.tv is looking for an exceptional front-end web developer to join our technology team. This person will champion the build out of new front-end interfaces and enhance current functionality of our existing Web application.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and extend our dashboard, syndication and discovery interfaces
- Design and develop new features based on the latest web technologies (eg. HTML5)
- Work on website application and on JavaScript functionality within our embedded player

Skills / Experience:
- Passion to develop, invent and learn new technologies within an innovative and ground-breaking team
- Ability to excel in a creative, entrepreneurial, fast paced, fun environment
- Experience developing front-end commercial web applications
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript both with and without frameworks such as jQuery and prototype
- Must have advanced knowledge of JavaScript concepts such as prototypal inheritance, closures and their relationship to context, JSON and callbacks
- Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS with a clear understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
- Familiarity with the latest UI technologies and toolkits for building rich experiences in a browser based interface
- Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3
- Nothing less than fanatical attention to detail will be considered
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are a must
- Experience working with automated testing frameworks is a plus

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
